Best part: although their hands may craft each beautiful piece of nigiri, the meal itself is entirely in yours.

"Night markets are well known throughout Asia," says Mills Market owner Johnny Tung. "Every country has its own version ... small vendors, making the food right in front of you, and you walk around and experience everything."

From 5:30-9:30 p.m. on May 21, Mills Market will host its fifth homage to Asia's night markets, this time celebrating Asian-American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

Orlando’s Mills 50 neighborhood is where many Asian-Americans put down roots just after the Vietnam War. Over time, these businesses have brought a variety of southeast Asian flavors to the area. The Mills Market has quickly become a favorite food hall and a Michelin-recognized standout for its Japanese onigiri, Vietnamese Bahn Mi, and hand-pulled Udon.

Mills Market is proud to announce the launch of Meals 50, a goodwill initiative dedicated to giving back to the Orlando community through food.

Each month, Mills Market will host curbside pop-up events in collaboration with local chefs and restaurants, with a portion of proceeds going toward donating 50 meals to those in need.

The nigiri-forward project is the latest creation from the powerhouse team behind Zaru, UniGirl, Cowboy Curry, and Sorekara, and it promises to bring a deeply personal—and deeply delicious—new experience to the city’s hottest culinary hub.

The Michelin hotspot in Mills 50 draws locals and visitors for a delicious mixture of Asian cuisine… Mills Market is a good example of how to bring multiple food vendors together in a positive and community-driven way, against some of the bigger food halls that have struggled in recent years as the initial fad seems to pass for diners. 

While the city is home to more major parks than anywhere else in the world, its culinary scene goes beyond turkey legs and chicken nuggets. Nowhere is that more evident than in the Mills 50 district, a vibrant neighborhood in the heart of Orlando with more Michelin-recognized spots than any other part of town.

A new take on a Japanese staple is open for business inside Mills Market. UniMart is a smaller version of traditional conbini: Japanese convenience stores known for stocking a vast selection of goods and affordable, high-quality prepared meals and hot items. The shop comes courtesy of Michelin-star chef William Shen, owner of Mills Market favorites Zaru, UniGirl, Cowboy Curry, and Okonomi.
